RESTORATION: PLEASE PICK UP YOUR LETTERS IN THE CHURCH ENTRANCE. At
last week’s meeting, the parishioners unanimously voted to proceed
with renovating the inside of the church. BREAD
BAKING: Our next bread baking will be on Saturday,
February 25, with a snow date of March 3. Please place your
orders on the sheet downstairs. Be aware that the only baking for
March will be for the Easter Festival, so please plan accordingly.
We need 5 lb of sugar for our next baking. Many thanks to Meroslava
Szwez for her donation of raisins.
A
LENTEN VISIT
to Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Brookline, MA has been scheduled
for Saturday,
March 24.
We will learn about life in the monastery, see the beautiful chapel
and public rooms, the preparation of icons and incense and the
animals kept to provide food for the brotherhood. We have been
invited to join the monks for a Lenten lunch (no meat or dairy) at no
cost although we will pass an envelope on the bus for donations as a
gesture of our gratitude for their hospitality. All of our parish
family and friends are invited to join us. We hope that many of our
youngsters will participate. (Children 10 years of age and younger
must be accompanied by an adult.) The
cost
of the bus is yet to be determined and is dependent on the number of
people attending. However, thanks to the generosity of so many
people this past year, the transportation cost for all of our
youngsters through college, will be covered by the Youth Ministry. We
will tentatively leave the church at 8:30 a.m. and will return by
late afternoon. A
signup
sheet
will be posted on the church hall door or you may contact Fr. Andrii
(860-989-5748
/ frandrii@yahoo.com)
or Cynthia Sirick (860-953-3469 /
czsirick@gmail.com).
We must have a final count by February
