CHURCH SCHOOL NEWS

Happy birthday to James Glowa who will be 15 years old on August 9. May God grant James MANY BLESSED YEARS! MNOHAYA LITA!

Sincere thanks to the Bouchard Family who served “Coffee and…” last Sunday. The schedule for the next 3 weeks is as follows:

August 1 – The Josefiak Family August 8 – The O’Flaherty Family August 15 – The Melnyk Family

Our church has been given an interesting opportunity to participate directly in the lives of 6 boys, all age 15, who recently left Fontanka Orphanage in Odessa, Ukraine and are going to go to trade schools. These boys are ‘at risk’ because of their age and entering higher education so young. Fontanka is our newest “Bundles for Ukraine partner”. On August 8, during “Coffee and…” John Nickleach will give a presentation about the boys, their schooling, and their goals. Our objective is to establish a group of “families” for each of the boys. We will be able to communicate with the boys monthly through UAC-Ukraine. For each 6 individuals who join together to sponsor one of the boys, the cost would be as low as $9.50 per month per person. Information packets are available and pictures of the boys, their essays, and a signup sheet will be on display in the coffee area. This is a chance for our church to reach out and help mentor 6 young boys in need of a “family”. See John Nickleach to obtain an information packet or to choose one of the boys if you would like to pledge sponsorship. We have started a Youth Choir project in our parish. All children and young adults are strongly encouraged to participate in this uplifting venture. Parents, please, talk to your children and promote their involvement. Rehearsals will be conducted on Sundays during “Coffee and…”
